Masterworks Beginner Harp Studies is a comprehensive harp curriculum for young beginners that aims to equip teachers and raise up students who love music education. Lesson planning is made easy with twelve organized lessons in each lesson book that provide preparatory skills, theory, and real pieces to play. Students will learn classical music, traditional children’s songs, and other engaging melodies. Each book includes beautiful illustrations with whimsical harp characters, teacher parts, and suggestions for pedagogy that appeal to multiple learning styles.
Lesson Books
Each Lesson Book includes twelve organized lessons that, as a set, provide a solid foundation in harp study for the young beginner.
Lesson Book One is designed so that teachers and students actively engage with each other and with the concepts in each lesson by means of listening, singing, counting, and playing various songs and exercises together.
Lesson Book Two is the second book in the three-part series that demonstrates that music is an engaging study for even the earliest beginner harpist. It presents harp study in a clear, orderly way while simultaneously cultivating a love for music with whimsical illustrations, engaging tunes to play, and samples taken from traditional selections. Topics covered in this lesson book include fingering, placements, interval practice, composition, ties, sharps, and glissandi.
Lesson Book Three is the final lesson book in the Masterworks series. This book is designed with the progressing beginner player in mind. Continuing to build on the skills developed in books one and two, book three provides a well-rounded study of the harp that covers replacements, intervals, dynamics, octave scales, transposition, chords, flats, and tuning.

Although the Lesson Books make up the core of the curriculum, the Practice Books provide extra practice for a well-rounded study of the harp. Each book adds pages of music history, theory, and extra songs to play. Corresponding Lesson Book pages found along the sides of each Practice Book page make lesson planning easy!
