Masterworks Harp Academy is a private harp teaching studio offering in-person and virtual harp lessons. The Masterworks curriculum, Masterworks Beginner Harp Studies, is for young beginners and aims to equip teachers and develop students who love music education. Lessons provide:
- note reading skills
- rhythm practice
- theory
- real pieces to play from day one!
Students will learn classical music, traditional children’s songs, and other engaging melodies. Each book in the curriculum includes beautiful illustrations with whimsical harp characters, teacher parts, and suggestions for pedagogy that appeal to multiple learning styles.
Elizabeth Carpenter is a mother of four boys and married to an amazing harp hauler. They currently live in Indiana where Elizabeth has a private music studio in their home. She holds a bachelor of arts from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI, and studied with Professor Suzann Davids. Elizabeth also spent a year in Argentina where she studied Spanish and worked with harp Professor Marcela Mendez.
Elizabeth has performed for many local orchestras and ensembles. She has been involved with several composition projects for the harp including an award-winning full orchestration of her work, “The Ruined Cottage.”
Elizabeth is the author of the Masterworks Beginner Harp series. She has taught in the Sturgis public school harp department, directed several student harp ensembles, developed music classes for multiple homeschool communities, and currently adores all her private harp lesson students.
